Our dashboards provide a more personalised experience when it comes to managing your legal spend. Whether you are a General Counsel, part of an in-house legal team or a member of the finance team we allow a more centralised view of spend tailored to your world.
We have two dashboards available for you to choose from:
- Birds eye view - This dashboard gives you a global overview of your legal spend across all your connected law firms.
- My matters - Use this dashboard for oversight on matters that are only relevant or important to you. If you’re an in-house lawyer or part of the deals team, this is perfect for you.
- Legal Ops - This dashboard will help you assign matters, track against budgets and review invoices
- Finance - Use this if you need to monitor WIP ahead of billing cycles and manage in-flight invoice approvals.
Choose Your Dashboard
When you first login to Apperio you’ll have the option to choose your dashboard to get started.
Birds eye view
This dashboard provides you with a total view of all your legal spend.
On the top of the page is a summary of any new matters that have been created by your law firms in the last 30 days. To organise your spend you can sort your new matters into different categories for example by folder, matter type or by assigning matter owners.
Simply click on ‘view’ to start sorting your matters.
You can see the total number of matters unassigned to a folder using the matters overview.
Click ‘View’ to open a list of matters unassigned directly on the matters page.
The spend summary gives you an overview of your total legal spend in Apperio broken down by billed and unbilled WIP.
You can filter the spend overview to track your spend over the last 30, 60 or 90 days.
As you filter the spend summary by different date periods you can see the percentage change of spend. For example, filtering for 30 days shows the total percentage change of legal spend within the last 30 days.
To see a more detailed breakdown of spend across your connected law firms, select ‘view more’ to open the spend overview. To learn more about the spend overview page in Apperio click here.
The matter budget summary allows you to track the progress of spend against different budget thresholds.
At a glance you can see the percentage and number of matters that are below (0% - 75%) approaching (75% - 100%) over a budget (100%+). You also have oversight of matters that are without a budget using this view.
Select the ‘view’ button to open a list of matters relative to each budget threshold.
The top matters chart lists five matters with the greatest amount of spend accumulated over a specific time period.
You can filter the chart by date period on the top right hand side. For example, filter the chart to see a list of top matters of greatest spend over the last 30 days.
Hovering over the total spend, you can track the spend of the matter against the budget as a percentage.
Select ‘View all matters’ to open the list on the matters page.
The top law firms chart shows a list of law firms that have accrued the greatest amount of spend over the last 30, 60 or 90 days.
On the top right hand corner, you can filter the chart by period.
Hover over the chart to see the spend figure and the percentage change of spend relative to the chosen date period.
Select ‘View all law firms’ for a more detailed breakdown of legal spend across your law firms.
The My Matters dashboard provides a more personalised view, you can see a summary of legal spend based on matters that have been assigned to you in Apperio.
For matters you have been made matter owner for or matters you have starred, this spend is aggregated and displayed on this dashboard.
On the top of the page is a number of new matters that have been assigned to you. Select ‘view’ to see these matters in more detail on the matters page.
With the budget summary you have oversight of spend tracked against different budget thresholds. You can see the percentage and number of matters that are below (0% - 75%) approaching (75% - 100%) over a budget (100%+).
Click on ‘view’ to see a breakdown of these matters on the matter page.
The top matters chart gives you a list of five matters ordered by greatest spend. Filter the chart to view matters that have accrued the most spend over the last 30, 60 or 90 days.
Hover over the chart to see the percentage of spend tracked against the budget. The matter properties are visible here for example you can see the matter status, fee type or if you've starred the matter.
To view your top matters in more detail select ‘view my matters’.
See a list of recent invoices using the Latest invoices chart.
For any new invoices that are recorded in the Practice Management System (PMS) of your law firms you can view the billed amounts directly on this chart.
Or select ‘view my invoices’ for a detailed breakdown on the invoice page.
To switch between the two dashboards in Apperio select the cog icon on the top right hand side.
You can now choose your dashboard.
