When you first join Apperio, you will have the opportunity to choose the currency you’d like to best represent the data shown for your business. This is known as the business currency and reflects the data and charts displayed on the dashboard, law firm page and in analytics.
Each matter within Apperio can also have a matter currency. This may or may not be the same as the business currency and is determined by the law firm. The matter currency is used on the matter page and law firm list.
It is also possible for some of the transactions (and invoices) within a matter to be in a different currency from the matter itself. This is however fairly uncommon, and is dependent on the needs of your business.
Apperio will always keep the invoiced amount in the currency of the invoice, so that it matches the invoice provided by your law firm. Where the matter currency or business currency does not match that of the invoice Apperio converts the amount into the appropriate currency based on the banking exchange rate on the day the date of the fee or expense.
