What is Versioning?
Adding versioning to the query will generate multiple csv datafiles (“versions”) from a single query.
What is the use case for Versioning?
This is mainly used for one of the following reasons:
- Splitting out separate client’s data, due to different scope / level of data being provided per client. For example, folder structures to be provided for client A but not client B
- The volume of data is too large for a single file. Therefore data can be separated to manage size, for example one file for closed matters and one file for open matters
What does Versioning look like in the datafile?
In the datafile, it appears as an additional column, located at the beginning of the file (Field A):

The name of the Version in the query will populate the cells in Column A. This will need to be set-up by Apperio in order to be accepted, otherwise you will receive an error message when uploading.
